What is Invisalign?

How Invisalign Works The Process

Initial Consultation
Your journey with Invisalign begins with a comprehensive consultation at Fletcher Dental Care. During this appointment, we’ll perform a thorough evaluation of your teeth using advanced 3D imaging technology, such as digital impressions or scans. This allows us to create a highly accurate, customised treatment plan tailored specifically for you.

Customised Aligners
Based on your treatment plan, a series of clear aligners will be custom-made just for you. Each set of aligners is designed to move your teeth incrementally toward their final, ideal positions. The aligners are virtually invisible, so most people won’t even notice you’re wearing them. You’ll wear each set for about 1-2 weeks before switching to the next set in the series

Wearing Your Aligners
Invisalign aligners should be worn for 20-22 hours per day to achieve optimal results. You can easily remove them to eat, drink, brush, and floss, which makes maintaining oral hygiene much simpler than with traditional braces. By wearing your aligners consistently, you’ll experience steady progress as your teeth gradually shift into alignment.

Regular Check-ups
Throughout your treatment, we’ll schedule periodic check-ups to monitor your progress and ensure that your teeth are moving as planned. These visits are typically shorter and less frequent than traditional braces adjustments, giving you more flexibility and convenience.

Completion of Treatment & Retainers
Once you complete your series of aligners and your teeth have moved into their desired positions, you’ll be provided with a set of retainers to help maintain your new smile. Retainers are crucial in preventing your teeth from shifting back over time, and our team will guide you on how and when to wear them to keep your results long-lasting.
Benefits of Invisalign
- Virtually Invisible: Invisalign aligners are clear and almost impossible to see, making them an ideal choice for individuals who want a subtle and discreet orthodontic treatment.
- Removable: Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign aligners can be removed, allowing you to eat your favourite foods without restrictions and maintain excellent oral hygiene with ease.
- Comfortable: The aligners are smooth and comfortable, without the sharp edges or wires that can cause irritation in the mouth.
- No Metal Components: Invisalign uses clear, BPA-free plastic aligners that are custom-moulded for your teeth, so there’s no need for brackets or wires.
- Predictable Results: Thanks to advanced 3D imaging technology, you’ll have a clear visualisation of your treatment plan and final result from the start.
